CREATING
Creating art enhances fine motor development, oral language skills, creativity, and visual perception abilities, while engaging students in enjoyable activities as they explore their many talents.
The focus of Special Scribbles is the creation of unique paintings through one on one direct instruction.
Each painting is transformed into stationery cards, gift tags, and other unique merchandise through the help of our local print shop, Press Craft Printing in Ozark. Special Scribbles recently expanded to include apparel in collaboration with the t-shirt company Southern Casanova.
LEARNING
For the first time in Ozark City Schools, a classroom business webpage was created that gives customers from the community and around the nation full access to our products, to include payment and shipping.
This has expanded the vocational responsibilities of the class as students keep up with inventory, prep and fill online sales, and prepare packages for shipping. Special Scribbles is truly a work-based learning initiative.
All proceeds from sales are used to purchase learning materials for the classroom as well as community based experiences that would otherwise not be obtained through school funding alone.
